About me

I have an MA in Contemporary Religions and Spiritualities.

I have been a Pagan since 1985 and Wiccan since 1991. I am attracted by Taoism, Sufism, and mystical Judaism. I have also been involved with Unitarianism, but have realised that one can only fully inhabit one sangha (spiritual community) and one dharma (truth-space). Other dharmas and sanghas may be nice places to visit, but they are not home. Wicca is home.

I believe in love, wisdom and being inclusive. The divine (whatever it is) is not a person or a thing, but is immanent in everything, and both includes and transcends gender. It is the experience of connectedness with all that is.

I am interested in liberal religion and engaged spirituality (by which I mean working for social justice as well as trying to raise my own consciousness).

This blog is called dance of the elements in honour of the Pagan idea that reality is the interplay of the  elements: earth, air, fire and water - and sometimes spirit.

Here is where I post poetry, reflections and meditations. Comments are welcome but this is sacred space.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

- Aedh wishes for the cloths of heaven, W B Yeats.
